Privacy policy

This notice explains information handling connected with www.beclearcut.co.uk, including email enquiries and optional analytics.

Updated 5 November 2026.

Who is responsible for your information?

LEOKA operates Clearcut and is responsible for the personal information it handles through this website. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email hello@beclearcut.co.uk.

Email enquiries, feedback and complaints

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and attachments, and any name or other contact details you include. We use this information to respond to enquiries, consider corrections and feedback, and handle website or privacy complaints and requests.

We use ordinary correspondence for our legitimate interests in responding to visitors and maintaining the website. Where a specific legal obligation requires us to handle a privacy request or retain information, we process the information needed for that obligation.

Include only information relevant to your enquiry. Do not send confidential policy, medical, client or claim records. Contact your insurer or broker for policy or claim enquiries. Clearcut does not collect insurance applications through its own website.

Website delivery and security

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. Requests to load a page involve technical information such as an IP address, requested address, browser information and request time. Hosting and security processing is separate from optional analytics and supports our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website.

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity

We use optional analytics to understand visits and improve the website:

Our site loads these tools only after you select Accept analytics. We rely on your consent for optional analytics. Selecting Reject analytics leaves these tools unloaded. Google advertising storage and personalisation, and Clarity advertising storage, are set to denied in our integration.

Analytics may use browser identifiers; it should not be treated as anonymous simply because your name is not requested. Do not send sensitive information through website URLs. We do not add email enquiry contents or medical, policy or claim records as custom analytics fields.

Cookies, browser storage and your choices

Select Cookie settings, available on each page, to reopen the choices. You can accept or reject analytics or keep your current choice. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

Technology Provider Purpose Duration or control
clearcut-cookie-choice-v2 in local storage Clearcut Remembers whether you accept or reject analytics Choice expires after 180 days; you can change it or clear browser storage sooner.
_ga and _ga_* cookies Google Analytics Associate visits and activity for analytics Our integration sets a 180-day cookie duration without automatic renewal; enabled only after analytics acceptance.
_clck and _clsk cookies Microsoft Clarity Associate a visitor’s page views and session recordings Controlled by Clarity and browser settings; enabled through our integration only after analytics acceptance. See Microsoft’s cookie documentation below.

Cookies are not the whole information flow: scripts also transmit requests and interaction data. Microsoft documents additional cookies on its own domains; their operation can depend on consent and browser restrictions. See Clarity’s cookie documentation.

When you withdraw analytics consent, our integration disables GA4 collection, removes accessible Google Analytics and Clarity cookies on this domain, and reloads the page without loading either tool. Cookies on other organisations’ domains cannot be deleted by Clearcut’s JavaScript. Browser controls can also be used to manage stored cookies.

If browser storage is unavailable, a choice may not persist to the next page. We ask again when a saved choice expires or the tools covered by the choice change.

Service providers and external insurance websites

The services involved in operating this website include Cloudflare for hosting and security, Google for email and Analytics, and Microsoft for Clarity. The information each receives depends on the service used and, for optional analytics, your choice.

Our quote links take you to Simply Business. If you follow a link and supply information there, that organisation handles it under its own terms and privacy information. Review those before completing a quote or application. An external website also receives technical information when your browser requests its pages.

Read the providers’ information: Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft and Simply Business.

Where information is processed

The providers above operate international services. Information may be processed outside the UK, including through service infrastructure and support access. Their privacy information describes their processing locations and transfer arrangements. Contact us for questions about the arrangements relevant to your information.

How long information is kept

We keep ordinary enquiry correspondence for 12 months after resolution. Unresolved complaints, privacy requests or legal matters may require longer retention while they remain relevant. We review whether those records remain necessary.

Device-storage durations are described above. They are different from retention of information already sent to analytics services. Our retention policy for GA4 user/event-level data is two months. Standard aggregated reports and any exports are separate from that setting. Microsoft’s Clarity retention documentation describes retention for recordings and other data types.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restricted use, or a portable copy where that right applies. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent to processing based on consent.

Email hello@beclearcut.co.uk to make a request. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity and understand the request. Avoid sending identity documents unless we explain why they are needed and how to provide them securely.

You can also complain to us about how we handle your information. You have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office; see the ICO’s complaints information.

Changes to this notice

We update this notice when relevant information-handling arrangements change. The date above identifies this version. Our website terms explain use of Clearcut’s information and external links.

We use Google Analytics to measure visits and Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and session recordings to understand how visitors use Clearcut. These tools load only after you accept analytics. Advertising storage and personalised ads remain off.

We save your choice on this device for 180 days. You can change it using Cookie settings.

Read our privacy policy for more information.
