Website terms

These terms explain use of the Clearcut website and its information.

Updated 5 November 2026.

These terms concern your use of the Clearcut website, www.beclearcut.co.uk.

Who operates this website?

Clearcut is operated by LEOKA.

For questions about the website, email hello@beclearcut.co.uk or visit Contact us.

What Clearcut provides

Clearcut publishes general business insurance information for UK small-business owners, self-employed people and contractors. The guides explain insurance terms and points to check, and help readers prepare questions for an insurer or broker.

Clearcut does not issue insurance policies, amend cover or handle insurance claims. The Get Quotes and Compare quotes links take you to Simply Business’s external quote website. Any quote, application and insurance contract are handled by the relevant provider under its own terms. Clearcut does not provide a personal insurance recommendation.

Using the information

The content is general information, not a personal insurance recommendation, legal advice or confirmation of your business’s obligations. It cannot establish whether a particular policy meets your needs or whether a claim is covered.

Check your policy terms and ask your insurer or broker about details relevant to your business. Obtain appropriately qualified advice where your circumstances require it. Examples illustrate questions to consider; they do not decide an individual claim.

We aim to explain topics accurately and clearly, but information can change. If you identify a possible error, contact us with the page link and the statement concerned. These limitations do not remove our responsibilities under applicable law.

Permitted use

You may browse the website and share links to its pages. You may keep or print reasonable extracts for your own reference or internal business use, subject to rights we are entitled to grant and any clearly stated third-party restrictions.

Keep source acknowledgements with extracts. Do not present altered content as Clearcut’s original wording. Where permission is required, ask us before republishing content.

Where permission is required, ask us before using Clearcut branding in a way that suggests an association or endorsement. A link to Clearcut must not falsely imply our approval of another business or service.

These permissions do not limit any use that applicable law permits without permission.

Do not use the site unlawfully, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software or deliberately disrupt its operation.

Content ownership and third-party material

Third-party names, materials and linked publications remain subject to their respective owners’ rights. A source citation does not grant permission to reproduce the source’s content.

External links provide access to information or services. A link alone does not confirm that a product suits your business or that Clearcut endorses it.

Insurance and other services on an external website are provided by that organisation under its own terms and privacy information, which you should check before using its services. This does not remove any responsibility Clearcut has for its own website or conduct under applicable law.

For policy documents, cover changes or claims, use the relevant provider’s contact details and required process.

Contacting Clearcut is not notification to your insurer. Do not rely on contacting Clearcut to meet, pause or extend any policy, complaint or legal deadline.

Privacy and cookies

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information and use analytics. Use Cookie settings to accept or reject optional analytics or change your choice.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Nothing removes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to remove.

Website complaints

For a complaint about the website, use Contact us. This does not replace any separate insurance-provider complaint process or restrict legal rights.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms to reflect changes to the website or applicable requirements. The date above identifies this version. A revision does not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen.

We use Google Analytics to measure visits and Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and session recordings to understand how visitors use Clearcut. These tools load only after you accept analytics. Advertising storage and personalised ads remain off.

We save your choice on this device for 180 days. You can change it using Cookie settings.

Read our privacy policy for more information.
